It’s sunny and warm here in Nashville. Spring Break begins tomorrow. My conference travel (somewhat lighter than last year) starts in two weeks. The dissertations are moving along nicely. There is a sense of opportunity swirling about—job openings, grant applications, ideas for journal articles.
My training for Vineman is thus far injury free and highly enjoyable, even the swimming (Corey Bunje Bower, aside from being Peabody’s leading blogger, is also an excellent swim coach). I’m getting plenty of time on the bike trainer in the early mornings and then slipping out of the office to swim or run in the late afternoons. On the warmer weekend days, I’ve been able to put some time in on my newly acquired time-trial bike, a 2005 Cervelo Dual.
And my blog still exists, despite months of neglect. I have as late enjoyed reading blogs more than writing one, but that may be changing a bit. I’m sure the next couple of months, with me wrestling with the difficulties in my dissertations, attending various conferences, and logging the long, solitary training miles, will provide plenty of prompts for thinking-out-loud.
